Sevenoaks Philharmonic Choir

Sevenoaks Philharmonic Choir warmly invites all singers to join us for a singing development day with internationally renowned singer and conductor, Brian Kay.
We will use Haydn Creation as the vehicle for this event – improving voice production and ensemble singing will be the aim of the day as much as improving understanding of the work.
Brian Kay Brian is well known to singers everywhere, both as a founding member of The Kings Singers, a BBC broadcaster and as a much-in-demand Music Director.
He is Principal Conductor of The Really Big Chorus with which he regularly conducts massed voices in London’s Royal Albert Hall together with recent concerts in cities around the world (including a performance of Handel’s Messiah in China, in Beijing’s Forbidden City Concert Hall). He also leads their annual summer school and singing cruises around Europe and beyond.
For ten years Brian was Chorus Master of Huddersfield Choral Society, and Conducted the Cheltenham Bach Choir, the Bradford Festival Choral Society and for 21 years, Vaughan Williams’ Surrey-based Leith Hill Musical Festival. He frequently Guest-Conducts choirs and orchestras around the country and has directed choral courses at all the major summer schools.
Further afield, in New Zealand he has conducted the Orpheus Choir of Wellington and the Auckland Choral Society, and in Sheffield, Massachusetts, the Berkshire Choral Festival.
He is a Vice President of the ABCD (the Association of British Choral Directors) and of the RSCM (Royal School of Church Music
